Fear not, intrepid readers. Orac will return in a week, as he describes here in an update. He has not disappeared forever, although two and a half weeks is a long time.
Even Orac has times when other, more important things than laying down Insolence, require his attention. This is just such a time.
Happy holidays, all! As I mentioned a few days ago, I'm taking a brief blog break for the holidays. I hope that, wherever you are, whatever faith you hold (or don't hold), your holidays are filled with cheer. I'll return either Monday or January 2, depending upon how energetic I'm feeling and what is or isn't going on in the world regarding topics that concern me.

Today, I’m winging my way to sunny Las Vegas. Yes, in the middle of summer, when southern Nevada’s weather is most like an oven, I will be there. The reason? I’ll be doing a workshop and a panel with fellow supporters of science-based medicine at The Amazing Meeting.
